About Mike

I grew up in Whittier and spent my teenage years in Redlands, California. In Redlands, I started hearing about a group teaching Bruce Lee’s Jeet Kune Do in garages and backyards. A friend took me to a class with Jeremy Lynch, and I began private lessons with him in 2003.

In 2005, Jeremy brought me to Tim Tackett’s Wednesday Night Group. I eventually earned Full Instructor rank under Tim Tackett, Bob Bremer, and Jim Sewell.

Over the years, I’ve produced around forty instructional videos on Jeet Kune Do and Filipino martial arts, run a martial arts academy, taught seminars, written magazine articles, and co-founded the Chinatown JKD Association.

My current focus is screenwriting and documentary production. I’m based in Colorado, where I’m developing scripts and More Than Theory.
